    ...

I think my time has come to go after the elimination and that a chance should be given to somebody new. - Perasovic

"We did not make a good result [at EuroBasket] and I understand that anyone who does deliver a good result should step down.

"I've done everything in good faith, even though I must have made a lot of mistakes.

"Before the game [against the Czech Republic] I was very optimistic, I saw a good team, concentrated and I expected us to play very well.

"Unfortunately, the opposite proved to be true."

The tenure of 50-year-old Perasovic at the helm of Croatia's national team had commenced officially on 3 March, when he was announced as the new head coach by the HKS.

He was chosen to replace in the role Jasmin Repesa, who had steered Croatia to the semi-finals of EuroBasket 2013 and into the Round of 16 at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Following the end of Croatia's EuroBasket 2015 campaign Perasovic is moving to Spain as he had agreed in June to assume the reins of his former club, Spanish power houseLaboral Kutxa Baskonia.
