PBA – TnT add Commissioner’s Cup to their trophy case

MANILA (PBA Commissioner’s Cup) - Talk N Text on Sunday bagged their second title of the PBA season with a 99-96 overtime win against Ginebra Kings, clinching the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals after taking the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Back in February, TnT won the import-less All Philippine Cup.

“Two down, one to go,” TnT coach Chot Reyes exclaimed as he talked to the legion of fans on the public address system after the game.

“Obviously, now that we have the second, we will chase the third jewel (to complete a Grand Slam). We are definitely going to go for it,” he later told a news conference as TnT look to complete the season’s treble, a feat achieved by only three teams – on four occasions – in the PBA’s 36-year-old history.

When the Governor’s Cup begins on 2 June, TnT will aim to emulate Crispa (1976 and 1983), San Miguel (1989) and Alaska (1996) as the only sides to win all three titles in the same season.

TnT staged a valiant comeback in Game 6 against Ginebra. After trailing by 16 points early in the fourth quarter, they rallied to tie the score at 88-88 at the end of regulation period and then clinched the issue in the overtime.
