PAR - Draw made tor South American Championship

ASUNCION (South American Championship for Women) - Reigning champions Brazil have been drawn alongside Peru, Venezuela and Chile in Group A of the 30th South American Championship for Women, which starts next week.

The Brazilians will come up against a Chilean team who have changed coaches in recent weeks, the pairing of Julio Cordoba and Carlos Alvarez taking charge after Carlos Iglesias resigned because of personal reasons.

The draw for the tournament, which was made on Tuesday, saw hosts Paraguay placed in Group B along with Argentina, Colombia and Bolivia.

The South American Championship offers three countries qualification to next year's FIBA Americas Championship for Women.

The tournament tips off next Tuesday.
