The Panamanian Basketball Federation (FePaBa) confirmed the influential center will join the 30-man party for the first time since 1999 for the tournament which begins on August 19.
Dionisio Gomez, meanwhile, will arrive in Panama this week, while Danilo Pinock is waiting for the results of the NBA Draft on June 28, which will decide whether he will be part of the team.
Panama have been drawn in FIBA World Championship Group B, alongside Germany, Spain, Angola, Japan and New Zealand.
Before the tournament begins, Vecchio's team will host the Centrobasket championship and the Central American and Caribbean Sport Games in Cartagena, Colombia.
