    PAN – 18 players summoned for final cut

    PANAMA CITY (FIBA Americas Championship) - The Nationala Basketball Federation of Panama (FEPABA) announced that the national team trials will begin on August 6 at 6:30 PM at EPIHO Gym, Punta Pacifica where 18 players were called as they prepare for the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship.

    The 18 players named are going to participate until they make the final cut and travel to Las Vegas, Nevada on August 19.

    A total of 12 players were in the Panamerican Games and the others come from many international leagues.
    Panama start the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship against Uruguay on August 22 and finish the first round on August 26.

    The 2007 FIBA Americas Championship is a qualifier for the 2008 Olympic Games. The best two teams qualify for the tournament while the other three top teams qualify for a World Olympic Tournament in July, 2008 which is the last chance to qualify.

    The 18 players called are: Jair Peralta, Ed Cota, Michael Hicks, Rubén Douglas, Max Gómez, Dionisio Gómez, Jamaal Levy, Jaime Lloreda, Antonio "Toñito" García, Rubén Garcés, Desmond Smith, Danilo Pinnock, Joel Muñoz, Eduardo Isaac, Joshua Chambers, Reyjavick DeGracia, Amir Alvarado and Joel Isaac Tesis.
