One-on-one with Maurizio GHERARDINI [audio]
[by Ryan McNEILL] - Maurizio Gherardini is, without question, one of the most respected minds in basketball world. He became known to casual NBA fans a couple of seasons ago by joining the Toronto Raptors' front office, but he has long been respected due to his work in Europe. He led Benetton to four Italian League championships (1997, 2002, 2003 and 2006), seven Italian Cups (1993-95, 2000, 2003-05), three Italian Supercups (1997, 2001 and 2002), two Eurocups (1995 and 1999) and four appearances in the Euroleague’s Final Four (1993, 1998, 2002, and 2003).

Despite an already busy schedule due to his commitments with the Raptors, Gherardini added more to his plate when he assumed a role on Canada Basketball's Advisory Board. He recently sat down to chat with FIBA about what his new role entails, his desire to contribute to the growth of basketball in Canada and the Toronto Raptors.
