DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Six 3x3 teams on both the men’s and women’s sides will play for the last ticket to the Tokyo Olympics in Debrecen, Hungary on June 4-6, 2021.

    DEBRECEN (Hungary) - After a thrilling FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, we are now up to 7 men’s and 7 women’s teams going to Tokyo.

    But, there is still one spot up for grabs. At the FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament, taking place in Debrecen, Hungary, June 4-6, six men’s and 6 women’s teams will take their last shot at securing their place in the Olympic field.

    Here are the pools heading into the event based on the May 1, 2021 Federation Ranking:

    Men
    Pool A: Slovenia (1), Ukraine (4), Belgium (5)
    Pool B: Mongolia (2), Hungary (3), Romania (6)

    Women
    Pool A: Italy (1), Iran (4), Chinese Taipei (5)
    Pool B: Netherlands (2), Hungary (3), Estonia (6)

    After pool play, the winners of each pool will automatically enter the semi-final, while the teams finishing second and third will play against their opposite pool opponent in the quarter-finals. The bracket will all be single-elimination and only the winners of the event will earn a spot in the Olympics.

    Slovenia, Belgium, and Mongolia will seek redemption on the men’s side after failing to qualify in Graz, while all six women’s teams return from the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
