There was a Dream Team at the 1992 Olympic Games and everyone knows about that.

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were three of the 12 players in a star-studded USA side that was and probably always will be the most talented side ever to run onto an Olympic basketball court.

There was also a team of dreamers at those same Barcelona Games.

    That team was Angola.

No one that showed up to watch games at the Palau Sant-Jordi will ever forget the African champions' meeting with the United States.

The Angolans were in awe of their opponents and lost, 116-48.

They were in the company of legends they had watched on television during the golden era of the NBA.

That Portuguese team had Jean-Jacques Conceição, David Dias, Jose Carlos Guimaraes, Manuel Sousa “Necas”, Benjamim Ucuahamba, Paulo Macedo, Benjamim Romano, Nelson Sardinha, Antonio Carvalho, Herlander Coimbra, Anibal Moreira and Angelo Victoriano.

NBA coaching great Chuck Daly was the boss of Team USA while for Angola, the man in charge was Victorino Silva Cunha.

During the game, one Angolan player who was guarding Jordan looking over at his bench and asked a teammate to take a photo.

The game also had a little bit of controversy and it involved the Dream Team’s Charles Barkley and Coimbra.

Coimbra caught an elbow from Sir Charles and fell to the floor, and the referees slapped Barkley with a technical.

Barkley later said: "You hit me, I'll hit you.

Angola did not go the entire tournament without a winning a game, though.

They beat the host country, Spain, 83-63.
