LAUSANNE (Switzerland) – Dutch 3x3 basketball stars and Olympic gold medalists Worthy de Jong and Jan Driessen visited the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Headquarters in Lausanne on Thursday to take part in a cherished Olympic tradition, signing the Olympic Wall. The ceremony honors Olympians who have made their mark on the Games.
The duo was part of the Netherlands’ historic gold medal run in men’s 3x3 basketball at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In a dramatic final against hosts France, De Jong sealed the victory with a clutch two-point shot, securing a 18-17 win and the Netherlands’ first Olympic gold in the discipline.
The Olympic Wall, located at IOC Headquarters, serves as a living tribute to generations of Olympic athletes. By adding their signatures, De Jong and Driessen join a legacy shared by champions from across all sports and eras.
The visit was a moment to reflect on their journey from preparation and qualification to the pinnacle of Olympic glory.
