STOCKHOLM (Sweden) - Croatia's Olivia Vukosa put herself into FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket folklore on Saturday with a performance for the ages.
Vukosa broke the tournament single-game scoring record, piling on 46 points in Croatia's 73-66 loss to Czechia, breaking the record originally set in 1990 by Bulgaria's Albena Dimitrova, who scored 45 points against Poland.
She shot 14-for-29 from the floor and went 15-for-18 from the free-throw line. Vukosa also pulled down an extraordinary 18 rebounds and 3 blocks in the defeat.
Vukosa becomes the seventh player to score 40 points or more in a FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket game, only this time, she stands alone at the summit.
The performance efficiency valuation of 46 tied Türkiye's Ilayda Guner for the second-highest mark in the competition history and trailing only Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte, who registered an efficiency of 59 in 2007.
