Nigeria pound Rwanda 79-49

ANTANANARIVO (FIBA Africa Championship for Women) - Nigeria took her second Group-B game beyond the reach of Rwanda in Day-2 of the FIBA Africa Championship for Women in Antananarivo, Madagascar Saturday with an emphatic 79-49 point’s victory.
 
The Nigeria women team coached by the trio of Coaches Ayo Bakare, Scott Nnaji and Andrew Isokpehi out play the Rwandans in all department of the game winning in all four quarters by 24-12, 18-16, 19-08 and 18-13.
 
The Nigeria who lost her group opening game to defending champion, mali on Friday displayed superior fire power with forward, Charity Egenti leading the Nigeria challenge with a double double of 22 points and 20 rebounds.
 
Nigeria captain and former FIBA Africa Championship for Women most valuable, Mfon Udoka adding 18 points and 8 rebounds while Rashidat Sadiq contributed 12 points and 4 rebound to complete the day for their country over the Rwandans who now has a 0-2 record having lost her opening game to Angola by 66-54 points.
 
Rwanda Angellica Williams led her teammates with 12 points just as the duo of Honoree Ayebare and Laetitia Mahoro added 10 points each.
 
Nigeria will take to the floor against Tunisia at 14.00 hour on Sunday in both sides third Group-B game as the Tunisian search for first win while Nigeria will try to consolidate on her new found team spirit, Rwanda on the other hand will battle defending champion, Mali.
