According to the election guide-line release last week by the Nigeria Sports Ministry and National Sports Commission, the six zones that made up the Nigeria state will elect its representative on Monday April 20 while the national election holds on April 28 in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The new 12-man NBBF board is expected to be made up of six representatives from the each of the six zones, one to be nominated by the Sports Ministry, one representative each from the National Association of Physical and Health Education, Women in Sports, the Armed Forces, the Para-Military, NUGA/NIPOGA/NACEGA and an executive member of the continental or world basketball body.

The body when constituted will replace the present task force headed by Tijjani Umar who is favoured to return to the board while FIBA Africa Zone-3 president is expected to make a return based on his membership of the continent highest organ Central Board.
