TRIPOLI (FIBA Africa Championship / AfroBasket) - Adjudged as one of the most widely travelled basketball player in the world, Gabriel Nnadubem Muoneke first foray into Nigeria and Africa basketball date back to 2003 when he was called by former Nigeria national team handler, Ayo Bakare to the 2003 edition of the Africa Championship in Alexandra, Egypt where Nigeria finished second behind Angola.

Muoneke followed it up with another appearance for his native country at the 2005 edition in Algeria with a third place finishing and a FIBA World Championship to the 2006 World Championship in Japan where Nigeria lost narrowly to Germany by one point.

Muoneke third coming yielded a good deed as he was handed the captain arm band and he has not disappointed since the campaign began in Libya with his quality on and off the court leadership style and great contribution to Nigeria quest of a world championship ticket.

In today quarter-final game against 2007 runner-up, Cameroon, Muoneke and his teammates must remember the goal set before them by ensuring that they adhere strictly to team work to guarantee them a place in the last four.
