NGR - First Deepwater crush I. G Queens 91-13

LAGOS (First Deepwater Basketball Classics) - First Deepwater basketball club continue her impressive run in the first edition of the First Deepwater Basketball Classics which enters it second day Tuesday with a 91-13 points battery of hapless I. G Queens basketball team.

The Coach Lateef Erinfolami was so ruthless with their opponent in all department of the game winning all four quarters 10-05, 26-01, 23-04 and 32-03.

The modest side will Wednesday take on Nigeria perennial champion, First Bank basketball club in what promises to be the star-match of the 3-Day tournament.

Coach Erinfolami believed his players have what it takes to end the Elephant Girls more than one decade unbeaten runs in the local scene.

According to the former captain of the Nigeria senior men national team, “I am confident in the ability of my players to end First Bank unbeaten run.

“Though I respect them (First Bank) having being invisible in the Nigeria scene for close to a decade is not a mean feat but they are beatable.

First Bank on the hand compounded the woes of visiting Sunshine Angels basketball club of Akure with a 58-33 point’s victory.

The Coach Adewumi Aderemi side won three of the four quarters (11-03, 13-08, 09-15 and 25-07).

While First Deepwater and First Bank battle each other for the top spot at 16.00 hours Sunshine Angels will attempt to make their trip to Lagos a worthwhile one when they take to the floor at 14.00 hours against the I. G Queens in the third place game.
