The new jersey brings back a lot of memories, and the atmosphere at the reveal in Belgrade just added an extra bit of emotion to the whole scene. Youngsters from both the men's and women's teams presented all the shirts Serbia wore at the biggest of stages, with blue dominating the way.

"The fact that gives me the most joy is that we will be heading to China with the strongest available team we have, if we stay healthy. That just proves that this jersey never lost its value," the president of the Serbian Basketball Federation Predrag Danilovic said.
"It is still an honor to wear this shirt, and a challenge, too, to represent your country. I can only tell you what this national team jersey meant to me. Those who never wore it, whether the country was Yugoslavia or Serbia and Montenegro or Serbia, they can only assume what it feels like. But I do know. And I hope that once they wear this shirt, our new generations will also cherish the moment, that they will remember it forever," Danilovic added.
"The organization of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 is always a challenge by itself, because when you represent Serbia you have a double obligation - to be good hosts and to be successful as a national team. I'm sure we can do both, because we have showed that we know how to organize competitions and achieve sporting success. "
Danilovic wore blue en route to four FIBA EuroBasket titles and a 1996 Summer Olympics silver medal, and now he is dreaming of making history as the president of the federation. Serbia last wore the blue jersey in 2012, during the FIBA EuroBasket 2013 Qualifiers, and the switch to red hasn't lowered the standards of success, as they are the current runners-up in FIBA EuroBasket, the Olympics and FIBA Basketball World Cup.
