    FIBA statement on status of games involving Turkish teams

    MUNICH (Germany) - FIBA Europe extends its deepest sympathies to those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria and expresses heartfelt condolences to the victims.

    MUNICH (Germany) - FIBA Europe extends its deepest sympathies to those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria and expresses heartfelt condolences to the victims. 

    In light of the situation, FIBA was prepared to postpone all games involving Turkish teams. 

    The FIBA Europe Cup game between Gaziantep and HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim will be played as originally scheduled on Wednesday in Germany, per the request of the Turkish club. 

    The FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 Qualifiers games involving the Turkish national team will not be affected.

    EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women games will also not be impacted, with action set to resume after the Qualifiers window.

    All FIBA games will observe a moment of silence in memory of those affected by the earthquake.
