Graz and Ub stay perfect on Day 1 of FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters

    DOHA (Qatar) - New Serbian powerhouse Ub had a clean 2-0 record on the opening day of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters on March 26, 2021.

    DOHA (Qatar) - Graz and New Serbian powerhouse Ub had a perfect record on the opening day of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters on March 26, 2021.

    THE TEAMS

    Have you heard of Graz before? The Austrian squad came all the way from the Qualifying Draw and defeated both Ny Harlem and Princeton to advance to the quarter-finals on top of Pool D. 

    After adding  4-time World Tour winners Dejan Majstorovic and Marko Savic from Novi Sad, Ub seems like the team to beat in the first Masters of 2021 in Doha. The Serbian squad defeated first Lusail in OT and then, in the most anticipated game of the day, took care of Novi Sad with Marko Brankovic scoring 9 points against Majstorovic and Savic's former team. 

     ALSO UNDEFEATED

    The experienced Piran (SLO) also finished undefeated after taking down Liman (16-14) and Sakiai Gulbele  (17-13) in Pool A.

    Amsterdam Talent&Pro (NED) defeated World Tour reigning champs Riga (18-17) and Edmonton (16-12) to top Pool C. 


    THE GAME

    Manila Chooks TM shocked local favorites Doha in the Qualifying Draw  in overtime (21-20) with an ice-cold Tissot Buzzer Beater courtesy of Chico Lanete.

     The Filipino squad failed to advance to the Main Draw of the competition after losing to Graz , in another thriller (22-17).


    THE PLAYERS

    Strahinja Stojacic (Ub)  led all scorers with 15 points and had the highest P-Val of all players(17.6.)
    Karlis Lasmanis (Riga) and Arvin Slagter (Amsterdam) also had 15 points. 
    Disco Domo (Ny Harlem) was the player to watch as he finished the day with 12 highlights.
