PORTLAND (NBA) - Tracy McGrady had 35 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a 95-86 win at Portland on Thursday.

The triumph was the Rockets’ 50th of the season, and it came despite Argentina national team star Luis Scola, the MVP of last year’s FIBA Americas Championship, failing to score a single point in 25 minutes of action.

Team USA’s Shane Battier had nine points and six rebounds for the sixth-place Rockets, who are now level with fifth-top Phoenix with identical 50-25 records.

In the other two games played on Thursday, Sacramento prevailed 110-98 at home over the Los Angeles Clippers while the Cleveland Cavaliers slipped up at home against Chicago 101-98.

Cleveland, who were swept in last year’s NBA Finals by San Antonio, are fourth in the Eastern Conference playoff standings with a 42-34 record.
