BOSTON (NBA) - Rajon Rondo, Eddie House and the Boston Celtics are back on level terms with the Orlando Magic after winning Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semi-Final series on Wednesday evening.
Rondo had his third triple-double of the 2009 post-season and House led the Celtics with a career play-off high 31 points in a 112-94 Celtics triumph.
The tie now shifts to Orlando for Game 3.
Rondo has been spectacular for the last couple of seasons but most of the attention on the Celtics has been on the 'Big Three' of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and captain Paul Pierce.
With Garnett out of action in the play-offs because of a knee injury, Rondo's contributions have stood out.
The 23-year-old Kentucky native had 15 points, 18 assists and 11 rebounds in Game 2.
Rondo would appear to be in strong contention for a place in the Team USA squad that will play at the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
He played for the Americans at the FIBA U21 World Championship in Argentina four years ago and averaged 11 points, 4.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds as the USA went 7-1 and finished fifth in that tournament.
Orlando’s Team USA center Dwight Howard had 12 points, 12 rebounds and five turnovers.
The Los Angeles Lakers also knotted their Western Conference Semi-Final with Houston at 1-1 following a 111-98 triumph on Wednesday.
Kobe Bryant of Team USA exploded for 40 points and Spain's Pau Gasol scored 22 while also pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds.
Yao Ming of China finished with 12 points and 10 boards for Houston, who host Game 3.
