SAN ANTONIO (NBA) - The Memphis Grizzlies were within touching distance of a place in the Western Conference Semi-Finals on Wednesday but Gary Neal came to the rescue for San Antonio.

Neal, who spent last season in Europe with Benetton Treviso in Italy and Unicaja Malaga in Spain, hit a game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation and San Antonio ended up claiming a 110-103 overtime triumph to force a Game 6 back in Tennessee.

After the game, Neal, a 41.9% shooter from behind the arc during the regular season, said of his game-tying shot: "It felt good.

"I knew I had good legs going into it.

"It felt good. I followed through and it went in."

Memphis, the eighth seed, had San Antonio on the ropes in the closing seconds when Manu Ginobili's three-ball from the corner was changed to a two.

In a mad scramble, the Argentina national team star chased the ball down, darted to the right corner and launched the shot over the outstretched hands of Marc Gasol to knot the game with just over two seconds to play, only for officials to look at video replay and determine his toe had been on the line.

San Antonio fouled Zach Randolph and he sank two free-throws with 1.7 seconds remaining to push the Grizzlies' lead to 97-94.

After a timeout, the Spurs inbounded the ball at midcourt to Neal whose long three from the top of the key kept the Spurs alive in the post-season.

France point guard Tony Parker then scored six of San Antonio's first eight points in the extra period and they won by seven.

Ginobili finished with a game-high 33 points while Parker had 24 and Tim Duncan 13 points and 12 boards.

Randolph led Memphis with 26 points and 11 boards while Gasol had a game-high 17 rebounds to go with his 11 points.

Game 6 will be played on Friday.

Oklahoma City rode the back of Team USA's FIBA World Championship MVP Kevin Durant to a 100-97 home triumph over the Denver Nuggets.

Durant had 41 points, including his team's last nine, as the Thunder stormed back from a late nine-point deficit to clinch a 4-1 series victory.

Next up for Durant and Co will be either San Antonio or Memphis.

Serge Ibaka had nine blocked shots for Oklahoma City, the last a swat of a Nene shot which came after Durant had hit two free-throws with 46 seconds remaining to put the hosts in front to stay.

Denver looked to be closing on in victory when baskets by Wilson Chandler and Ty Lawson had given them a 91-82 advantage with 4:15 remaining.

Both of those shots came on drives and Thunder coach Scott Brooks responded by inserting Ibaka, who was catching a breather, back into the contest.

Ibaka is a player that Spain are attempting to naturalize so he can represent the country in international basketball.

The African learned his basketball in Spain and played for Manresa.

After the contest, he used his Twitter account sergeibaka9 to express his feelings.

He tweeted: "Yeahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Let's go = vamos."

Ibaka added another which said: "What do u think about changing my twitter name to sergeiblocka??"

Denver had an opportunity to force overtime at the death but Arron Afflalo's shot from the arc stayed out.

"We didn't close out this game, we didn't close out Game 1 and they're both very difficult to swallow right now," Denver coach George Karl said.

In the Eastern Conference, Miami clinched a 4-1 series victory over Philadelphia with a 97-91 home win.

The Sixers got a great effort from their Team USA world champion, Andre Iguodala.

The defensive specialist led the way on offense with 22 points, 10 rebounds, four assists.

Dwyane Wade had 26 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for Miami, who must now face Boston in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

Boston swept the New York Knicks 4-0 in their first-round series.

On Thursday night, Atlanta carry a 3-2 lead into their home game against Orlando, the Los Angeles Lakers travel to New Orleans with a 3-2 lead over the Hornets and Dallas return to the floor in Portland owning a 3-2 lead over the Trail Blazers.
