    NBA - Gasol hits season-high 43 but Grizzlies fall at Golden State

    OAKLAND (NBA) - Many of FIBA's biggest names took center stage in the NBA on Friday with big performances, including Spain's Pau Gasol who scored a season-high 43 points duo couldn't lead the Memphis Grizzlies past the Golden State Warriors.

    Baron Davis had a career-high 19 assists to go with his 20 points as the Warriors won over Memphis in Oakland, 116-104.

    The Warriors, third in the Pacific division, improved to 21-16 on the season while Memphis, the Southwest division's bottom side, slumped to 10-26.

    Luis Scola and the Houston Rockets improved to 20-17 by hammering the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves (5-30) 113-82.

    Argentina international Scola had 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

    Germany's Dirk Nowitzki led the way with 20 points and six boards as the Dallas Mavericks (25-11) cruised to a 90-70 triumph at the Seattle Supersonics (9-27).

    The Los Angeles Lakers (24-11) continued to fire on all cylinders, getting 37 points from Team USA's Kobe Bryant in a 110-105 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks (15-21).

    Andrew Bynum dominated for LA as well, scoring 25 and grabbing 17 rebounds.

    One of Team USA's captains, Carmelo Anthony, poured in 32 points to fire the Denver Nuggets (22-13) past the visiting Orlando Magic (23-15).

    New Orleans (24-12) piled on the misery for the reeling Miami Heat (8-28), getting 25 points from Bobby Jackson in a 114-88 mauling of Dwyane Wade and Co.

    LeBron James had 32 points and 19 rebounds the Cleveland Cavaliers (19-18) held on to beat the Charlotte Bobcats (13-22).

    Brazil big man Anderson Varejao also had 16 points and 18 rebounds for the Cavs.

    USA national team center Chris Bosh tore apart the New York Knicks (9-26), scoring 40 points and Spain international Jose Calderon weighed in with nine points and eight assists as Toronto (19-17) won 99-90.

    In other games, the Chicago Bulls (14-20) defeated the Philadelphia 76ers (14-23), the Boston Celtics (30-4) beat the New Jersey Nets (18-18) and the Washington Wizards (18-16) edged the Atlanta Hawks (15-17) 102-98.
