NEW YORK (NBA) - Eddy Curry scored 23 points and picked up nine rebounds as the New York Knicks snapped a five-game losing streak with a 94-86 victory over the New Jersey Nets at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
Jamal Crawford added 32 points, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the third period, while Zach Randolph also contributed 20 for the Knicks, who won for the first time since December 5.
The Memphis Grizzlies also got back to winning ways, ending a six-game slide as Rudy Gay scored a career-high 32 points and Spanish rookie Juan Carlos Navarro made 13 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter in a 123-119 victory over the Orlando Magic.
There was no joy though for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have a league-worst 3-19 record after suffering their fourth straight loss, going down 95-92 to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Michael Redd scored 32 points and dished out nine assists while rookie Yi Jianlian scored a season-high 22 points for the Bucks, who have won four straight games against Minnesota for the first time in franchise history.
In a battle of division leaders, Michael Finley and Fabricio Oberto each scored a season-high 21 points as the Southwest-leading San Antonio Spurs pulled away for a 101-92 win over the top side in the Northwest, the Denver Nuggets.
The Dallas Mavericks remained three games behind the Spurs after posting a 96-83 victory over the Houston Rockets, courtesy of 23 points by Josh Howard and 20 by Dirk Nowitzki.
The New Orleans Hornets are a further half-game behind after defeating the Pacific-leading Phoenix Suns 101-98 with Chris Paul scoring 21 points and dishing out 10 assists.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz closed to within a game of the Nuggets in the Northwest division after ending their six-game losing streak with a 96-75 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.
Carlos Boozer collected 21 points and 16 rebounds and Deron Williams added 18 and 10 assists as the Jazz won for the first time since December 3.
In Saturday's other games, Jamaal Tinsley scored 26 points as the Indiana Pacers posted a 106-103 victory over the Miami Heat, while Joe Johnson poured in 31 points for the Atlanta Hawks, who beat the Charlotte Bobcats 93-84.
The Washington Wizards had five players score in double figures for a sixth consecutive game in their 92-79 victory over the Sacramento Kings, while Andre Miller scored 20 points and Samuel Dalembert added 16 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 92-86 victory win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
