    PORT LOUIS (Olympic Solidarity Technical course for coaches) – The technical course for coaches took place at the Phoenix Gymnasium in Mauritius between 22nd and 31st March 2011.

    Mr Angelot Razafiarivony, who benefited from the Olympic Solidarity scholarship programme in 2008, was selected to head the clinic which saw about 10 coaches and six observers in attendance.

    Conducted with the participation of the Mauritius Basketball Federation and in conjunction with the country’s National Olympic Committee, the level 2 clinic was designed to provide those in attendance with new knowledge as well as skills.

    The course itself consisted of theoretical sessions as well as on-court practical sessions, aided by the presence of basketball players between the ages of 14 and 17, who helped conduct live demonstrations during the practical classes.
