Miezis named FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters 2020 MVP

    DOHA (Qatar) - The number two 3x3 player in the world Nauris Miezis (Riga, LAT) took home the MVP trophy after helping his team in its successful title defense of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters.

    DOHA (Qatar) – The number two 3x3 player in the world Nauris Miezis (Riga, LAT) took home the MVP trophy after helping his team in its successful title defense of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters on November 20-21, 2020.

    At just 6ft 3in (1.90m), Miezis led his team in rebounds, key assists and player value. Though he was quiet in the final (2 points), he was key in Riga’s 5-0 record in Qatar.

    His best game was in the quarter-finals against Bielefeld LFDY (GER), where he recorded a triple-five with 5 points, 8 rebounds and 8 highlights (including 5 key assists).

    He finished the event 6th in scoring. Two players shared the scoring title in Doha: his teammate sharpshooter Edgars Krumins and Liman star Stefan Kojic (both 34 points in 5 games).
