The Mexicans confirmed their status as Group A favorites by securing three wins, averaging a 25-point margin of victory Both teams entered the final game already securing their tickets to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers. The only question remaining was who would take the top spot in the group. By claiming first place, Mexico will be placed in Group A of the upcoming Qualifiers, while Jamaica will join Group B. The hosts once again relied on their long-range shooting to seal the win. On Sunday, they knocked down 16 three-pointers and averaged 14 per game throughout the tournament.
