    XALAPA (LNBP) - Halcones Xalapa suffered heartbreak in the FIBA Americas League after falling to Universo/BRB final but they are on course for glory in Mexico's top flight after seizing a 2-1 advantage in their LNBP South Zone Semi-Final against Panteras de Aguascalientes.

    Abdul Mills had 22 points and Victor Mariscal 17 as Halcones Xalapa prevailed 101-98.

    Devon Ford scored 31 points and Joe Webb 22 for Panteras.

    Veracruz outfit Halcones Rojosalso lost the first two games at home but they hit the road and won at Halcones de Cordoba 98-85 in the other South Zone series.

    For winners Rojosalso, Cleotis Brown poured in 28 points and Yack Michael Martínez contributed 22.

    Cordell Henry had 24 points and Josh Pittman 22 for the Cordoba team.
