CIUDAD OBREGON (Cibacopa) - Trigueros have advanced to the Cibacopa season finals in Mexico and will fight for the title against Agua Prieta-based Vaqueros.

In the South Zone finals, the team from Ciudad Obregon claimed an 87-79 triumph on Wednesday night to clinch the tie against Culiacan-based Caballeros 4-3.

Leroy Hickerson top-scored with 30 points for the winners in the decisive Game Seven, and was ably supported by a 25-point haul from Maurice Riddick.

Trigueros will next meet Vaqueros, who swept aside Colorados from San Luis 4-0 in the North Zone finals.

The progression of both Trigueros and Vaqueros to the Cibacopa finals was not unexpected, with the pair having been top seeds in their respective zones after the regular season.

The best-of-seven Finals get underway on Friday and continue on Saturday, in Ciudad Obregon. Trigueros have court advantage by virtue of collecting more points in the regular campaign (61-56).
