CANCUN (FIBA Americas Championship) – Team Mexico will be active in a three-game series against the Quintana Roo
Pioneros and the San Antonio Stars, from Mexico and USA, respectively. Those three games are schedule from July 27 to 29 in some cities throughout the Caribbean Mexico.
These games are part of the training schedule for Team Mexico, on their way to the FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, from August 22 to September 2, 2007. This tournament qualifies two teams for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Coached by Nolan Richardson, Team Mexico has some renowned names within their ranks, such as Omar Quintero, Adam Parada, Horacio Llamas, Hector Hernández, Victor Mariscal, Enrique Zuñiga, Ramses Benitez, Arim Solares, Gustavo Ayón, Victor Avila, Romel Beck y Anthony Pedroza.
Playing for the Pioneros will be local stars Cesar Campos and Mauricio Ramos. Also present will be Tomas Rios, Oswaldo Guzman, Miguel Ojeda y Enrique Baños, and others.
