TORREON (LNBP) - Soles got their LNBP title defence off to an unconvincing start in the North Zone as they lost their first two games of the season.
On Thursday, the Mexicali side lost 90-76 to Dorados, despite 19 points from Gregory Lewis.
Rafael Cruz poured in 24 points and Carlos Mucharraz added 16 for the victors, who have the best points difference after the opening two rounds having subsequently hammered Galgos 102-68.
Meanwhile, Soles were on the receiving end of an extraordinary performance from Andre Joseph and Blake Walker, who claimed 41 and 27 points respectively to help Algodoneros edge the champions 102-92.
It was the Torreon side's second win in a row, having also defeated Galgos 102-87.
Also undefeated are Santos Reales, who beat Correcaminos Reynosa 90-78 and Correcaminos Matamoros 84-57.
The South Zone is headed by three teams named Halcones, with Halcones Xalapa, Halcones Cordoba and Halcones Rojos of Veracruz all having won two out of two.
Mexico centre Gustavo Ayon's 21-point contribution helped Halcones Xalapa overcome Mayas 88-68, before defeating Bucaneros 90-70.
Led by guards Andrew Laws and Dallas Logan, who recorded 32 and 24 points respectively, Halcones Cordoba defeated Lechugueros 93-78.
The pair were in form again at Panteras, netting 23 and 22 points in the 95-85 win.
Finally, Halcones Rojos beat Bucaneros 91-77 in the opening game and saw off Mayas 77-68 on Saturday.
