MEXICO CITY (Cibacopa) - Mineros are unstoppable at home and that 19-0 record is going a long way to their leadership of the Mexican Cibacopa league.
The Cananea-based side played four duels at home, beginning with a 119-107 over defending champions Fuerza Guinda Nogales on Friday.
One day later, Mineros beat them again, this time by 102-94.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Mineros welcomed sixth-placed Caneros Navolato.
Caneros won the first duel 97-87, with Devon White top-scoring with 25 points accompanied by 21 points from Galen Robinson.
In the second game of the series, Scott Freymond was on fire as he poured in 40 points to help his team win 109-94 and continue on top with 65 points.
Their closest challengers, Frayles Guasave, are seven points below them after losing three of the four games played since Friday.
Their only victory was on Friday, when they hit Pioneros Los Mochis 119-104.
On Saturday, Pioneros needed five minutes of overtime to beat Frayles 125-117.
On Tuesday, Frayles moved to Mazatlan to visit Tiburones, who are fifth on the standings and claimed victories in each of the two duels.
Tiburones won 104-87 on Tuesday, despite the 31 top-scoring points of Frayles' Jorge Rochin.
One day later, Jamahr Warren poured in 26 points to help his team celebrate a 93-80 win.
Third place on the standings is shared by Marineros Guaymas and Ciudad Obregon-based Trigueros, both level on 57 points.
They met each other at the weekend. Trigueros won 110-75 on Friday, with 22 points from Jason McCutcheon.
But on Sunday, Marineros claimed a 97-87 away-triumph with 38 points from Benny West and a 22-point contribution of Jonathan Hopkins.
In mid-week, Tiburones hosted the reigning champions Fuerza Guinda.
The hosts won 133-125 on Tuesday, but lost 115-86 one day later against the team who are currently lying in eighth in the standings.
Trigueros, meanwhile, trashed second-bottom Navojoa-based Paskolas 114-81 and 106-77.
Elsewhere, Tiburones hammered rock-bottom Halcones Dorados Guamuchil 114-89 and 126-99.
Halcones were also beaten twice by Pioneros, 117-98 and 104-87.
Finally, sixth-placed Caneros Navolato edged Paskolas 88-72 on Friday and 93-73 on Saturday.
