    They began the week with two visits to Pioneros from Los Mochis, twice leaving the Benito Juarez stadium victorious.

    David White and Miguel Acuna, both with 29 points, were key in Friday's 120-95 triumph. The following day's game was much closer but still finished 108-96 to the leaders.

    Then, on Tuesday and Wednesday, they hosted Trigueros from Ciudad Obregon.

    Mineros won game one 107-90 with 31 points from Galen Robinson, who netted 34 a day later to help his side win 113-105.

    The Cananea-based team have now won their last 13 games, taking their season record to 25-3 and 52 points, with the trio of Trigueros, Caneros and Frayles
    all trailing in their wake with 45.

    Before losing their series against the leaders, Trigueros saw off second-bottom Halcones Dorados from Guamuchil, winning 101-91 on Friday and 110-86 on Saturday.

    Jason McCutcheon netted 24 points in each game.

    Caneros from Navolato and Frayles from Guasave met in midweek, with two victories for Caneros.

    On Tuesday, they claimed a 104-98 win thanks to 38 points from Cortez Stigger, and a day later they hit their opponents 101-89.

    Frayles were unable to repeat their weekend performance, when they defeated Paskolas from Navojoa 92-71 and 97-76.

    Caneros, meanwhile, lost at reigning champions Fuerza Guinda 141-127 and 120-111.

    However, in midweek, the eighth-placed side from Nogales were twice beaten by the side above them, Tiburones from Mazatlan triumphing 96-94 and 106-73.

    In other results, sixth-placed Pioneros recovered from their defeat to the leaders by beating Paskolas 91-87 on Tuesday and 84-62 24 hours later.

    Fifth-placed Marineros from Guaymas also had contrasting fortunes this week, winning three games in a row before losing their final duel.

    They beat Tiburones from Mazatlan 100-92 and 99-88 at the weekend, and clinched a 109-103 away victory on Tuesday over Halcones Dorados, who hit back
    to win the last game 123-112.
