    DURANGO (LNBP) - Lobos Grises lead the overall standings in the Mexican LNBP after defeating Halcones Xalapa 103-90.

    Both sides have comfortable leads in their respective zones and are playing for the prestige of being the best team in regular season.

    And it was the Northern Zone leaders who came out on top as the two went head to head, thanks to a superb night from Ron Selleaze, who scored 40 points, and Myron Allen, who added 20.

    Last Thursday, Lobos Grises also defeated Halcones Veracruz 105-88, while Halcones Xalapa won 92-84 at Union Zacatecas with Christian Lopez netting 18 points.

    Lobos Grises lead their pool on a 28-6 campaign, followed by Santos Reales (25-9), while Fuerza Regia and Correcaminos Victoria are level at the 22-12 mark.

    Daniel Frola's Santos Reales hit Lechugueros 92-77 thanks to the 30-point contribution by Nicholas Zachery, who recorded 23 points to help his team win 100-89 over Panteras on Saturday.

    Monday night saw Fuerza Regia defeat Mayas 106-90. Gerald Williams poured in 29 points and Christopher Jackson added 27 for the victors, who also overcame Bucaneros 90-84 on Sunday.

    Correcaminos Victoria also won twice in the last seven days, having defeated Panteras 100-85 last Thursday and Venados 97-85 two days later.

    The Southern Zone has Halcones Cordoba in second place with a 21-13 campaign, after they saw off Venados 97-85 and Bravos 101-97.

    Tecos suffered their 14th defeat in 34 games, losing 80-73 at Algodoneros, but remain third in Southern Zone, followed by Halcones Veracruz, who edged Union Zacatecas 100-90.

    Lamar Castile netted 38 points to lead Adan Saldana's side to their 19th win in 33 games.
