AGUASCALIENTES (LNBP) - An indifferent week in the Mexican LNBP for leaders Lobos Grises saw them lose for only the third time this season, and also record a victory to maintain their top status after 24 games.

Lechugueros were the benefactors last Friday, as they secured a close 105-101 victory over the leaders.

However, a day later Grises recovered from that loss as they recorded a 92-82 win over Panteras to maintain their overall lead in the LNBP.

On Friday, Harold Arceneaux scored 35 points and Maurice Riddick 24 as Leon-based Lechugueros recorded a surprise win. Jay Ronald’s 32 points for the hosts were in vain as he could not prevent his side from going down to the visitors.

A day later Ronald Selleaze and Myron Allen netted 29 points each as Grises defeated Aguascalientes-based Panteras to record a 21-3 overall record for the campaign.

They now lead the standings in both the North Zone and the overall standings.

Their overall lead has been cut to one point though, with both Correcaminos and Soles level on 20-4.

The team from Reynosa, Correcaminos celebrated two triumphs away from home this week, a 93-88 win at Bucaneros, thanks mainly to 31-point hero, Adrian Henning.

And Henning was the star again as he scored 20 points in Merida, where they played Mayas and secured a comfortable 96-79 win over their hosts.

Mexicali-based Soles also had a successful weekend. They saw-off visiting La Ola from Mexico City 83-80 followed by a nailbiting 76-75 triumph over Pioneras.

Gregory Lewis was their main-man netting 19 and 30 points consecutively.

Reigning champions Halcones are in fourth place, and remain the top team from the South Zone. They recorded two victories last week, a 101-76 hammering of

Lobos and a 101-91 win over Fuerza Regiato.
