    DURANGO (LNBP) - Lobos Grises became the new leaders of the Mexican LNBP league thanks to a pair of weekend victories as former table-toppers Halcones Xalapa crashed to two defeats.

    On Friday the Gray Wolves hammered Mayas 88-60, while their 17th win in 20 games came on Saturday night.

    Miron Allen top-scored with 36 points and Eric Hare added 15 to help the Durango-based side claim a 95-84 win over Bucaneros.

    Lobos Grises lead the northern zone and Santos Reales are close behind with a 16-4 record, while Southern Zone leaders Halcones Xalapa went down to third in the overall standings after slumping to 15-5.

    Daniel Frola's Santos Reales defeated Halcones Xalapa 100-94 on Saturday, as Nicholas Zachery poured in 27 points and Ramel Allen weighed in with 25.

    It was a good way for Santos Reales to get over the 93-76 home defeat to Halcones Rojos they suffered the day before.

    On the other side, Halcones Xalapa lost 94-81 in their visit to Correcaminos Victoria.

    Dorados and Algodoneros are level with 14-6 records in fourth place in the overall standings in third place in the northern zone.

    Following a 79-70 win over Pioneros, Keenan Jourdon and Detrick White netted 27 and 24 points respectively to guied Dorados to a 105-85 win over Guerreros. Mugabe Thomas top-scored with 40 points for the losers.

    Algodoneros saw off Guerreros 89-80 as visitors and Pioneros 96-82 as Blake Walker recorded 32 points.

    Sunday night results saw Lobos Coahuila claim a 115-106 triumph over Caballeros but their campaign has still been poor, with nine wins and 11 defeats.

    Also on Sunday, Fuerza Regia improved to 13-7 after beating Tecos 84-78 with Omar Quintero netting 30 points and grabbing four rebounds.
    The world's tallest basketball player Sun Ming Ming recorded two points, two defensive rebounds, one block and one turnover in 15 minutes.
