    MEX - LNBP starts in Mexico

    MEXICO (LNBP) - Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional started the 2008-2009 season in Mexico with ten games on Thursday night. There are two games left to be played on Sunday.

    Halcones UV Xalapa edged Barreteros 83-82 as Abdul Mills led with 21 points. In a losing effort Kenya Capers scored 19 points and Justin Griffin 15.

    Panteras de Aguascalientes defeated Halcones Veracruz 70-67 with 25 points from Devon Ford and 21 from Puerto Rican Gabriel Colon. Halcones dominated the first quarter 24-17 but some defensive adjustments gave Panteras the win.

    Loros de Colima conquered their first win against Estrellas 82-74 as imports Marlon Dumont and Henry Latraven scored 26 and 23 points, respectively.

    In Quintana Roo, Angeles de Puebla defetaed Pioneros 85-82. Hernan Salcedo netted 24 points for the winners.

    Bucaneros de Campeche overcame Halcones de Cordoba 77-75 with 19 points by Terrence Hunter, Puerto Rican forward Alex Falcon led in a losing effort with 26 points and 4 steals.

    In other results Lobos Grises dominated Lobos UAC 88-66, Algonoderos defeated Dorados 90-81, Bravos over Tecos 88-77, Potros defeated Venados 106-104 and Santos over Lechugueros 87-72.

    The two games scheduled for Sunday are Galgos against Correcaminos and Fuerza Regia against Soles de Mexicali.
