    MEX - Halcones Xalapa, Lobos Grises in top spots

    SALTILLO (LNBP) - Halcones Xalapa and Lobos Grises are level in the Mexican LNBP league's overall table with a 21-5 record to lead their respective zones.

    Both teams claimed back-to-back wins during the current week with Halcones Xalapa clinching an 89-84 away win over Lobos, the new team of Argentinian head coach Eduardo Cadillac.

    Victor Avila top-scored with 29 points and Victor Mariscal added 18 on Wednesday, while Ronald Selleaze had a superb night, pouring in 37 points to help Lobos Grises defeat Lechugueros 102-98.

    On Tuesday, Halcones Xalapa saw off Fuerza Regia 98-89, while Lobos Grises defeated Panteras 95-88 in Durango.
    In the Northern Zone, Santos Reales lie in second place with a 19-7 campaign, while the Southern Zone has Lechugueros, Tecos and Halcones Cordoba all level on a 15-11 record, below leaders Halcones Xalapa.

    Daniel Frola's Santos Reales beat Halcones Cordoba 97-81 in San Luis Potosi on Tuesday, as Nicholas Zachery and Ramel Allen netted 29 points apiece.

    Mark Borders netted 18 points and Allen grabbed 13 rebounds to help Santos Reales win 79-68 against Puebla-based Angeles.

    Lechugueros lost to Lobos Grises, beaten 108-88 in their visit to Union Zacatecas.

    In Tijuana, visitors Tecos, managed by Alberto Espasandin, lost 88-78 to Galgos despite Raymundo Zuniga top-scoring with 25 points.

    The Guadalajara-based side were also beaten by reigning champions Soles 82-63, while Halcones Cordoba lost 103-94 at Correcaminos Victoria.

    Back in the Northern Zone, Dorados recorded a 17-9 campaign to be third, one position above Fuerza Regia (16-10).

    With eight points, three rebounds and one block in 21 minutes by the world's tallest basketball player Sun Ming Ming, Monterrey-based Fuerza Regia edged out Halcones Rojos 94-86.

    Finally in Chihuahua, Dorados beat Mayas 88-82 on Tuesday, but then they lost 85-82 to Bucaneros.
