MEXICO CITY (LNBP) - Halcones Xalapa continued their 100% start to the season in the Mexican LNBP as wins over Pioneros and Guerreros saw them go top of the overall standings.
Their trip to Cancun saw them claim a 101-75 victory over Pioneros, with Omar Lopez netting 23 points and Gregory Plummer adding 18.
The Xalapa-based side then hammered Guerreros 107-80 to make it six wins out of six in the South Zone.
In the same division, their closest challengers Halcones Cordoba, Halcones Rojos and Tecos have all suffered just one defeat in their opening six contests.
Halcones Cordoba lost 90-84 at Mayas on Thursday with the home side claiming their second win of the season while, on Saturday, Halcones saw off winless Bucaneros 86-76 in Campeche.
Halcones Rojos edged Pioneros 87-80 on Thursday, before claiming a 65-62 triumph over Guerreros, while Tecos defeated Leon-based Lechugueros 73-67 and Panteras 77-75.
Santos Reales are the North Zone leaders after they claimed two wins to take their record for the season to five wins and just one loss.
They celebrated an 89-78 win over Dorados on Thursday, before hammering Algodoneros 105-80 on Saturday.
Fuerza Regia lost 105-91 to Correcaminos Matamoros on Sunday night with Sun Ming Ming, the world's tallest basketball player, recording his best performance for the club so far with 13 points.
The Monterrey-based team also lost 105-91 to Correcaminos Reynosa on Monday to take their record for the season to three wins and three losses.
