MEX - Halcones take control in LNBP finals

XALAPA (LNBP) - Halcones from Xalapa have taken a 2-0 lead over Lechugueros in the South Zone best-of-seven finals and are in a good position to retain the LNBP league title in Mexico.

Harold Arceneuaux's game-high 29 points were vain for Lechugueros, while Andre Laws netted 26 and Samuel Bowie contributed 21 for the winners.
On Sunday night, Victor Avila poured in 25 points and hauled down 12 rebounds, while Victor Mariscal added 21 points as Halcones won Game Two 103-84.
The tie will now move to Leon, where Lechugueros will hope to use home advantage to recover from their poor start.
Soles, the best team in the regular season (32-4), are in command of the North Zone Finals after opening up a 2-0 lead over Lobos Grises.
The Mexicali-based side worked very hard to win Game One 89-86.
Horacio Llamas top-scored with 27 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to help his team win the first game, while James Penny contributed 19 points and five rebounds.
Then in Sunday's Game Two, Soles put together a more comfortable win, emerging 92-77 victors.
Gregory Lewis tallied 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the winners, who extended their unbeaten record at home to 24 games.
The zone finals resume on Wednesday.
