ATHENS (EuroBasket Women 2015) - Evanthia Maltsi, the MVP of EuroBaske Women 2009, is to pull on a Greece national team vest again at this year's edition of the championship in what will be a likely swansong to an impressive career.

The free-scoring guard is currently recovering from an injury sustained with Adana Botas during the TKBL regular season, but is hoping to be healthy enough to suit up for her country once again and give them a boost in their quest to make it out of Group B.

Greece will play Italy, Poland, Belarus and Turkey in what looks to be a wide-open pool and the potential firepower of the star who didn't play during qualification, could prove priceless on their return to the big stage - having missed out two years ago in France.

Under the watchful eye of head coach George Dikeoulakos, 17 players will fight it out to make it onto the final roster for Oradea, with the experience of Maltsi adding to a veteran core which includes the likes of long-serving Pelagia Papamichail who recently won the Greek Championship with Ellinikou, as well as Lolita Lymoura, Olga Chatzinikolau and Katerina Sotirou.

There is real EuroLeague Women quality in forward duo Zoi Dimitrakou and Stella Kaltsidou, while Artemis Spanou is ready to shine after her first pro-season with Istanbul Universitesi BGD in EuroCup Women and the Turkish League.

The new generation of hopefuls are represented by Anna Stamolamprou and Mariella Fasoula who have both excelled at youth level, the former enjoying a great time in the NCAA and the latter a genuine long-term prospect in the paint.

Greece preliminary squad for EuroBasket Women 2015: Tania Chalivera, Olga Chatzinikolaou, Eleanna Christinaki, Zoi Dimitrakou, Mariella Fasoula, Natassa Gkotzi, Stella Kaltsidou, Afroditi Kosma, Lolita Lymoura, Evanthia Maltsi, Roula Mouli, Angeliki Nikolopoulou, Pelagia Papamichail, Katerina Sotiriou, Artemis Spanou, Anna Spyridopoulou, Anna Stamolamprou.
