VILNIUS (LKL) - Zalgiris and Lietuvos Rytas look to be headed for another championship showdown in Lithuania’s LKL.
Zalgiris completed a 2-0 sweep of Rudupis with a 100-77 triumph to reach the play-off semi-finals.
The Kaunas outfit host Siauliai, who are led by Antanas Sireika – the coach of Lithuania’s EuroBasket title-clinching team seven years ago – in Game 1 of their semi series on Tuesday.
Siauliai brushed aside Techasas 2-0 in their quarter-final tie.
Juventus battled their way into the LKL last four with a last-eight triumph over Neptunas but they were no match for Lietuvos Rytas on Monday.
Kenan Bajramovic scored 22 points as the Vilnius club rolled to a 108-61 Game 1 victory.
Zalgiris and Lietuvos Rytas could end up squaring off in the Baltic League Final as well.
On April 23, Lietuvos Rytas will take on Siauliai in the last four of that competition with Zalgiris going up against Ventspils.
Zalgiris, meanwhile, on Monday signed captain Dainius Salenga to a new one-year contract with an option for another season.
Salenga, 33, has averaged more than 13 points per game in the Lithuanian top flight this year for the Kaunas team, shooting a sizzling 46.9% from three-point range.
