Host cities and groups confirmed for Semi-Final round of 2015 DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana

SAN JUAN (2015 DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana) - FIBA Americas has confirmed the host cities and groups of the 2015 DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana.

Malvin and Guaros de Lara will host the Semi-Finals of the competition in Montevideo, Uruguay and Barquisimeto, Venezuela, respectively.

The Semi-Finals of the 2015 DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana have been configured as follows:

Semi-Final #2
17-19 November
Barquisimeto, Venezuela
Guaros de Lara (VEN) (Host)
Franca Basketball Clube (BRA)
San Martin de Corrientes (ARG)
Mogi Das Cruzes (BRA)

"We are very pleased to confirm Malvin and Guaros as hosts of the two Semi-Final series of our league. It was a difficult decision, and we thank Obras for once again proving their willingness and interest on being protagonists in South American basketball by presenting a serious project to host one of the Semi-Finals," said Mr Gerasime Bozikis, President of the South American Basketball Association (ABASU).

"Malvin and Guaros are undefeated clubs that have proven their competitive value and have earned the chance to play at home during the next stage of the league. These will be two great weeks of basketball with the best that club competition in South America has to offer. It will be pure enjoyment for every fan of the sport, myself included."

The teams that finish in first place of each Semi-Final series will advance to the Grand Finale of the 2015 DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana which will be played in a "playoff" best-of-three games series in the first two weeks of December.
