MONTEVIDEO (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana) – Quilmes de Mar del Plata suffered a setback on the first day of Group B, but bounced back into contention with an 85-74 win over Aguada.

In a marvelous offensive night, the Argentinian club shot for a 51% from the field and one of its key players was Eric Flor, who had 18 points and 6 rebounds.

Flor talked to FIBA.basketball after the victory.

Following last night setback against Pinheiros, today you leveled your record against the host. What where the key to the victory?
We knew this would be a very difficult match and that it would also be key to continue alive and with possibilities in this Sudamericana. The truth is that the team had a lot of hopes, and really wanted to qualify. Yesterday's result was a shock, but we knew that we had done a lot of things well, that we lost only by a bit and that if we tune some aspects we could get a good result. In all honesty it was luck that we could play a good game and dominate from start to finish, and we're very happy with the result.

How do you categorize your performance against Aguada?
It's teamwork. We have big men that work to cover me so that I may play freely, and we have free throwers that open up the court and that make it easier for me to go in sometimes. Frankly, it makes me happy to play well, but most of all to help the team to win.

Last year in the Argentinian National League, you where categorized as a revelation player, and know you’re playing in the international level. How do you feel about this Liga Sudamericana platform and what feelings arise?
Pride. Pride. Certainly, as you mention, a lot of very beautiful things happened in a short amount of time in my career, and I'm making the most of it and trying to keep getting better. I’m very proud to represent this club. There are five or six players that last year earned this participation. It's not a new team, our players came with a lot of drive, but most of them earned to play in this tournament, and we're enjoying it.

What can we expect of the must win game against Osorno?
It's not really our business to think about what's going on between Aguada and Pinheiro; we must go out to win. It’ll be another hard game, although it is considered to be the group’s weakest rival, it’ll still be very hard. We must go out, give it a hundred percent and take the win that, as you say, gives us the chance to qualify.
