    TAIPEI (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Lebanon are stepping up their preparations for the FIBA World Championship by taking part in the William Jones Cup in Chinese Taipei this week.

    The event tips off on Wednesday, with two-time defending champions Iran among the sides taking part.

    The Lebanese, who are coached by former New Zealand boss Tab Baldwin, will also compete at the Japan Invitational Games before returning home to host the 3rd Stankovic Cup in Beirut.

    Japan, Chinese Taipei, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Iran, Iraq and Syria will also play at the Stankovic Cup.

    Lebanon’s final tune-up for the FIBA World Championship in Turkey will be the Efes World Cup in Ankara.

    Baldwin’s men will take on Argentina, Turkey and Canada before traveling to Izmir on August 24.

    In Group D at the FIBA World Championship, Lebanon will face Spain, France, Lithuania, Canada and New Zealand.
