BEIRUT (FIBA Asia Championship) - Lebanon thought they had Darryl Watkins lined up to play at the FIBA Asia Championship but the American will not be on the roster when the tournament is played in Wuhan China.
Instead of becoming the country's naturalized player, reports claim that Lebanon will naturalize power forward Sam Hoskin.
The big man averaged better than 26.2 points and 14.5 rebounds per game last season with Gorgan in Iran.
Hoskin is also being linked with Lebanese outfit Champville, the side led by national team boss Ghassan Sarkis.
When Lebanon travel to the FIBA Asia Championship, they will be aiming for at least a top-three finish to earn a trip to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
The winner of the Asian Championship will qualify for the London Games.
Lebanon played at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey after receiving a wild card.
