    TRIPOLI (FIBA Africa Championship) - The invited referees for the 25th FIBA Africa Championship were Tuesday given a clean bill to officiate in the Libya 2009 Afrobasket which dunk-off Wednesday in Tripoli and Benghazi, Libya.

    The referees were taking through physical fitness to ascertain their level of fitness and endurance before the first jump-ball on Wednesday.

    The one-day clinic was supervised by FIBA expert Hedi Hammami, who describes the new innovation as an excellent way of judging the level of preparedness of the whistle men.

    Hammami told libya2009.fiba.com in a chat after the clinic that he is happy all the referees passed the test and he is confidence that they will put in their best when hostilities began Wednesday.

    Referees role-call:

    Samir Abaakil (Morocco), Haykel Kosntini (Tunisia), Chlif Abdellilah (Morocco), Gueye Babacar (Senegal), Ossouala Bob-Cains (Congo), Shema Maboko Didier (Rwanda), Vitalis Gode (Kenya), Jose Ramon Garacia (Spain), Pierre Ndobegang (Cameroon) and Paulo Renato (Cape Verde).

    Others are Nachid Massaoud (Algeria), Elias Koromilas (Greece), Abdelaziz Maguri (Libya), Mohamed El-Breilei (Libya), Maiga Youssouf (Mali), Babatunde Popoola (Nigeria), Cisse Ben-Ali (Cote d’Ivoire), El-Hariri Hesham (Egypt), Abreu Muhimua (Mozambique), Gomm Stacy (South Africa) and Fernando Pachoko (Angola).
