León, Mexico to host FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2026

    MIAMI (United States) – León, Mexico, has been confirmed as the host city for the FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2026, with the Domo de la Feria set to stage the event, FIBA’s Regional Office in the Americas announced. Eight national teams will compete in the tournament, scheduled for June 1–7: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the United States, Venezuela, and hosts Mexico. A place in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2027 will be on the line, with the top four teams earning qualification. The United States enters as the dominant force in the category, riding a streak of seven consecutive titles. Argentina, crowned in 2008, remains the last nation to break that run.
