LBR - Royal Hoopers, Kano Pillars, ABC dominates

MONROVIA (FIBA Africa Zone-3 Qualifiers) - The trio of Royal Hoopers basketball club, Kano Pillars basketball club of Nigeria and Abidjan Basket Club of Cote d'Ivoire have continued to dominate the 2010 FIBA Africa Champions Club for Men Zone-3 elimination holding at the SKD Sports Complex gymnasium, Monrovia, Liberia.

Royal Hoopers Nigeria, who are making their debut at Africa's top club competition, handed down a 73-61 defeat to Liberia former league champions NPA Pythons on day two of the qualifiers, comfirming its superiority over Liberian teams, having defeated Liberia reigning champion UHURU Kings on Monday by 66-55 points.

The Coach Ogoh Odaudu tutored Hoopers opened a wide margin by the end of the first quarter with a 22-6 point scoreline. However, they allowed the Pythons to bite back in the second quarter, which they lost 16-19, leaving a half-time scoreline of 38-25.

The Hoopers also lost the third quarter by 15-20 but rose to the challenges to earn victory in the last quarter, which they won 20-16 for a final scoreline of 73-61.

In the other two games of day two, Kano Pillars defeated Swallows of Togo 64-50, while ABC had the better of UHURU Kings winning the tie 59-49.
 
The action continues today as the competition enters day three with Royal Hoopers taking to the floor againsy ABC at 15:00 local time; Swallows and NPA Pythons searches for their first win at 17:00 while Kano Pillars go up against UHURU Kings at 19:00.
