BEIRUT (Lebanon) - A chance to atone for what happened in their previous clash is presenting itself for Kuwait Club when they cross paths again with Al Arabi SC in the 2025-26 FIBA WASL-Gulf League.
The two are set to take on one another again this Monday, with the two-time Sub-Zone League winners flying to Doha and battle the same team that spoiled their season debut back in October 21 in Kuwait City.
It could be remembered that Kuwait Club bowed to an 83-78 decision, which also marked the first time ever that they lost a WASL opener after winning all of their opening matches during the previous three seasons.
Now, after nearly two months of waiting, the crew of Coach Dusan Stojkov can avenge that bitter defeat by trying to give the Red Devils a dose of their own medicine - beating them in their own home floor, to be precise.
But it's not solely Kuwait Club's goal in the rematch set at 20:00 local time. A win would also enable them to further strengthen their hold of the Group B lead as they currently own the best record in the pool at 2-1.
Momentum is on their side as well, having won two in a row since that sour start into the season - first a thrilling 113-108 victory over the star-studded Al Ula Club before following it up with a 115-81 rout of Sharjah SC.
The same can't be said about Al Arabi, though. Since that stunner, the Qatari unit has lost back-to-back. They enabled Sharjah to get their first WASL win and got blown out by Al Ula afterward, 87-70.
Meanwhile, teams looking to climb up the standings will duke it out in Group A when familiar foes Kazma and Muharraq Club lock horns on Tuesday at the latter's own stomping grounds at the BBA Arena in Manama.
Game time is set at 19:30 local time, with the visiting squad from Kuwait looking to keep their unbeaten streak against the Red Wolves in the pan-regional tilt after reigning triumphant in their first two meetings.
The most recent of which was a 95-81 romping at home last October 20 for a triumphant WASL comeback - and to repeat, too, against the same team they edged out to catch a bus to the Final 8 back in 2024.
It would be interesting to see if they could continue their mastery of Muharraq, or if the latter could finally turn things around in their favor this time as they're actually entering in high spirits compared to the other.
After losing their first two games, Bader Malabes & Co. finally broke through after foiling Ittihad Club's bid of earning their third win in as many games by coming away with the 84-79 victory last November 10.
Kazma, on the other hand, are in the midst of a two-game slide, with the latest truly a heartbreaker as they bowed to a 68-65 decision against Shabab Al Ahli no thanks to a late Deshawndre Washington trifecta.
