JEDDAH (Super League) - Jeddah giants Al Ittihad have secured the Saudi Arabia Super League title with an 84-79 victory over Uhod in the second match of Super League Final, claiming their third domestic honour this season.
After winning the Saudi league and Prince Feisal Bin Fahad Cup titles, Al Ittihad wrapped up the Super league championship with back-to-back victories over Uhod.
Having lost the opening game of the series 79-68, Uhod started Friday's second game with a quick tempo trying to level the series, and the finished the first quarter 16-14 up.
However, Al Ittihad moved through the gears in the second stanza and were 47-33 ahead by the break.
Al Ittihad suffered a blow in the third quarter though as Ali Al Maghrabi hobbled out of the game, but former Lebanon man Al Riyadi Toni Madison picked up the slack and they entered the final period with a 66-58 lead.
Uhod fought back to level the scores 66-66 but could not pull ahead and Al Ittihad were able to come out on top.
