Kristaps Gluditis crowned FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup Crelan 2026 MVP

    Short Read

Latvia’s sharpshooter powered the champions to European glory with a tournament-leading nine two-pointers.

ANTWERP (Belgium) – Kristaps Gluditis of Latvia capped a memorable FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup Crelan 2026 campaign by being named the men's Most Valuable Player after leading the reigning world champions to their second European title.

Gluditis was the offensive force behind Latvia's triumphant run in Antwerp, delivering big shots throughout the tournament as Latvia added the Europe Cup crown to their World Cup title this year.

The Latvian guard finished the tournament with a team-high 32 points, including a tournament-best nine two-pointers, proving a constant threat from beyond the arc.

His biggest performance came in Latvia's comeback victory over Lithuania in the pool phase, when Gluditis stayed aggressive despite a slow start and just kept shooting. He finished as the game's leading scorer and helped Latvia secure a crucial win over the defending European champions.

"I don't think too much about the numbers. My role is simply to do whatever is needed to help the team win," Gluditis said after that Day 1 victory.

That team-first approach ultimately helped Latvia complete another landmark tournament, with Gluditis playing a central role in their successful title charge.

Gludītis was joined in the Men's Team of the Tournament by Netherlands' Nesta Agasi and France's Lorenzo Thirouard-Samson, who both played key roles in their respective teams' podium finishes.

And after Latvia completed their championship run, Gludītis made sure to acknowledge those who had been with them throughout the journey.

"Thank you to everyone for coming and supporting. We heard you. Thank you for the people in Latvia," he said after the Final. "Right now, we're just happy that we got it done."

For Gludītis, the individual honor was the perfect complement to Latvia's collective achievement, which was another major trophy for the reigning world champions and a European crown to match it.
